I lose track of the hours pretty much every night. I'll look at the time around 11 PM, then maybe not again until 3 AM, and then it will suddenly be 6 AM or even 7 AM when I look next, and I force myself to go to bed. The nighttime is when my creativity flows the best. But I can get lost to time during the day, too, when I get into something, coming out of my head when my stomach starts telling me I'm hungry. My wife gets upset at me sometimes about this, but it's just how I am, and trying to change it would turn me into some different person that I don't want to be.

I hear you! I used to get addicted to video games to the detriment of my relationship with my husband, and, well, real life too. So those had to go. But with music it's different. I have been trying to limit it to one day per week recently because the cycle of lack of sleep and its consequences is negative for me. But having that 'place' to get lost in brings so much out that I agree, it's transformative. I'm still figuring out the balance, as with all things ๐Ÿ˜Š
